ATLANTA, GA: Helfried Weinzerl, President and CEO of Burkle North America announced at the 2019 GlassBuild America show in Atlanta, Georgia, that PGT Innovations of North Venice, Florida has selected the recently introduced Burkle IFL Glass Lamination System to be installed in their glass operations plant in 2020. This system is a serial production in-line thermal oil heated flat platen lamination system.

IFL.jpgThe IFL system is composed of three in-line stages. The first stage is a vacuum enclosed set of uniformly-heated steel platens which provide precise temperature control and temperature uniformity, the second stage is another set of heated platens followed by the third stage cooling station.

“This serial production system provides significantly faster turnaround time and reduced energy cost compared to conventional autoclave systems with unrivaled uniform glass laminate thickness. The system also uses a streamlined lamination process, which will further improve our process efficiency in laminating glass for our current product portfolio,” says Bruce Wesner, Sr. Director of Engineering Services, at PGT Innovations.

Burkle’s in-line flat lamination system is ideally designed for production of laminated glass (VSG), safety glass, smart glass, decorative glass, solar modules, and other specialized glass products.

Burkle will also display the high-volume LFC Liquid Coating application system in Booth 1351 during GlassBuild America 2019.
