President's Letter | November 2017

helfried.jpgBurkle America has grown throughout 2017 with new employees and record sales in all of our markets. We want to thank our customers for their continued support and loyalty over these past years. We are entering our 27th year of serving our industries. We are proud of our record and thankful for the opportunities that have been provided to us.

Moving forward into 2018, we are pleased that we will be opening our technology center in Greensboro, North Carolina, where we will have coating equipment for our clients to interact with. We expect to have our grand opening in early March 2018.

Burkle has unique precision-coating technologies that serve a variety of markets and have allowed us to expand into several new markets with cost-reducing and productive coating systems. Throughout our company’s history, we have taken our core technologies and competencies into new markets, particularly in the coating of liquid materials onto flat substrates. This has allowed us to excel within the solar module manufacturing market, the hardwood coating market, and the signs and graphics market, as well as the glass industry.

Through the years, we have partnered with leading companies, such as Schmoll Maschinen, who bring the following to the table: highly-productive printed circuit board drilling machinery, post-etch registration equipment, laser-based drilling systems, and an exciting new imaging system particularly suited for soldermask applications. Industry veterans on our team, like Dave Howard, have enabled us to be highly successful in the printed circuit board fabrication industry, which perfectly complements Burkle’s lamination systems.

Burkle lamination equipment for the plastic card industry also continues to excel. This is an exciting, evolving market that is becoming more complex and unique with its card payment systems. We will continue to focus our efforts in this market.

Staffing-wise, we’ve grown our team with the addition of capable and experienced service technicians who install and help to develop new cost-efficient processes for our customers.

With the largest backlog in our company’s history entering into 2018, we expect to continue to expand and serve our customers.

Thanks for a great 2017 and we wish you great success in the New Year!

Best regards,

Helfried Weinzerl and the Burkle North America Team
