President's Letter | May 2018

It has been a while since my last update and quite a few things have been happening at Burkle North America.

First, and perhaps the most exciting event, was our Open House Celebration in our new Technology Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Notwithstanding the tornado event that we saw on the Sunday just before the Open House we had a wonderful event, one which we are very proud of. Follow this link for pictures from this special event.

We now have machines in place and running ready for display, testing and process development. Contact either Mark Joel , or Ed Strahota for demonstration reservations. On display are two of Burkle’s new Spray Coating Systems; a PUR Laminating Line; a BTF Rotation 3D system and a Large Format Coater, the LFC-1600, suitable for wood, tile and sign/graphic coating of digitally printed flat substrates. Soon we will also have a new Finishing Line in place.

Reinvesting 2018: After several years of equipment replacement stagnation we have seen a resurgence of investments going forward in all of our markets. From Solar Module manufacturing, Plastic Card and Printed Circuit Board manufacturers there has been a welcome period of reinvesting. Some of the spending has been the result of years of slow growth and equipment obsolesce, while others are a direct result of the new tax law and tariff increases. Whatever the reason, North America’s manufacturing future looks bright.

Staffing: We’ve grown our team with the addition of capable and experienced service technicians who perform installations and help to develop new cost-efficient processes for our customers. We are continuing to look for additional employees. Refer to our LinkedIn page for more details.

We look forward to working with all our customers in all our markets in the future.

Best regards,

Helfried Weinzerl and the Burkle North America Team
