President's Letter | December 2016

In 2016, we celebrated our 25th Anniversary here at Burkle North America. Our company has grown through the years under the leadership of our previous president, Dick Crowe, and now myself. Being a part of so many industries and markets has given me an exciting and rewarding experience and career. Now, as we enter our next 25 years, we are excited about the potential of the new and traditional markets that we serve.

Burkle North America is the exclusive representative for all Robert Bürkle GmbH products in North America, Canada, the United States and Mexico as well as all Schmoll printed wiring board fabrication products and Impex metrology products. We are in the process of expanding our woodworking East Coast facility with a new 14,000 square foot building in Greensboro, North Carolina which is scheduled for opening in January 2017.

We have added new staff to our woodworking/surfaces division: Mark Joel serves the Southeast including Mexico while Ed Strahota serves the Northern States including California. We are also expanding our service team with the addition of Keith Melton and a new engineer planned in 2017. We are very excited about re-establishing many contacts in this market segment.

We also have experienced great success in our electronic industry segment with Schmoll Machinen’s Printed Circuit Board Mechanical and Laser Drilling equipment. Most recently, Schmoll has introduced new Post-etch and Imaging equipment. Schmoll is the premiere worldwide supplier of this precision and productive positioning system.

The Schmoll MDI system has been proven to effectively image solder mask and primary imaging patterns. (Learn more from the upcoming article in I-Connect007’s The PCB Magazine, February 2017 issue.) These products support our core lamination equipment involvement.

Burkle has also been a part the Sign and Graphics industry providing robust, precision coating equipment for coating all types of digitally produced graphic signs and packages.

We continue to provide productive equipment to our Plastic Card industry one of the main markets that we have served for the past 25 years.

We take great pride with our contributions for coating and lamination equipment serving the solar module manufacturing industry. This high-tech market will continue to grow and Burkle will grow with it.

I encourage you to explore our website for application and product information, or to contact our sales/service staff for any questions, or applications that we can help you with.

Best regards,

Helfried Weinzerl
President and CEO
